Monique Soltani's Visit Hacienda el Divisadero

Monique Soltani

At Hacienda El Divisadero, every day is an opportunity to share our passion for raicilla, a spirit that encapsulates the history, tradition, and soul of our land. Recently, we had the honor of hosting Monique Soltani, the renowned host of the show "Wine Oh!", who came to learn more about our beloved pre-Hispanic spirit. Monique and her team not only immersed themselves in the raicilla experience, but they also took with them a piece of our family and heritage.

From the moment Monique arrived, we knew this would be a special visit. With her infectious enthusiasm, she joined us in every step of the ancestral process that has kept our tradition alive since 1885. We showed her how we carefully select our agave piñas, how we cook them in underground ovens, and how we distill using the same techniques passed down from our ancestors.

For us, it wasn’t just about showing her how we make raicilla, but about sharing the secrets and flavors that have been passed from generation to generation, always with deep respect for the land and family.

Monique, known for her love of wines and spirits, was fascinated by the uniqueness of raicilla, a drink that, has a distinctive character that makes it unique. During her visit, she tasted the "spirit of the agave," an experience that connected her with the essence of our roots and led her to understand why we consider raicilla more than just a drink: it is a bridge to our past.

Our experience with Monique was featured on her show "Wine Oh!" which aired last Sunday, July 28, on several key stations in California, including KPYX (San Francisco), KCAL (Los Angeles), KCBS (Los Angeles), and KOVR (Sacramento). This episode, which has the potential to reach 56 million households, details Monique's stay in Puerto Vallarta, where she connected with community members to learn about the culture, cuisine, and biodiversity of this destination.

In her own words, Monique described Puerto Vallarta as a "little piece of paradise off the Pacific" and highlighted that "it is the community that makes this destination so distinct… At its heart, Vallarta is all soul."

We are thrilled to have been part of this journey and to be able to share our raicilla with the world through "Wine Oh!". If you haven't done so yet, we invite you to watch the episode and discover how Hacienda El Divisadero continues to preserve the art and authenticity of raicilla, connecting generations through the flavor and spirit of our land. Cheers with raicilla!
